WHO WE ARE: Ballito Microlight Academy & Flight School is a boutique flight school located at a unique, beautiful airfield and are all about the fun of flight. Our training academy is ideal for students who are passionate about aviation, but are not necessarily intending to become commercial pilots. Learning is part of the experience, and we endeavor to give our students an amazing and memorable training experience. This is what makes our school unique.
WHAT WE ARE: Ballito Microlights is a SACAA Approved Declared Training Organisation (SACAA/0004/DTO), specializing in National Pilots License (NPL) training. We offer training for Light Sports Aircraft (LSA), Weight Shift Controlled Microlights (WCM) and Conventionally Controlled Microlights (CCM) licenses.
A National Pilots License is the right fit for someone that has a passion for flight and wants to chase their dreams. It is more affordable than a private pilots license, and doesn’t compromise the outcome of becoming a competent pilot. We pride ourselves in our training as we go above and beyond what is required for the syllabus and train our students to be able to fly into remote, often short, often rough airstrips. After all, we need these skills to be able to fully enjoy and appreciate the flying paradise that Northern Kwazulu Natal offers!
WHERE WE ARE: 1. Take the Compensation/Ballito Offramp and turn Inland 2. Drive past Umhlali Country Club and keep going until you hit a T-junction 3. Turn left at the T-junction, and then drive for about 800m, and turn right. 4. Head straight down this road for 1,7km and turn right onto a small dirt road with a Ballito Microlight Club sign. 5. Please note that it is the next entrance after Holla Trails/Sugar Rush. 6. Drive in and park at the first hangar on the left.
We do not keep fixed Office Hours but will make ourselves available to meet. Please phone 082 659 5550 Microlight flights are dependant on suitable weather conditions and we therefore keep flexible hours.
