Brave to Love is located in Pretoria and is a registered Non-Profit Organization that reaches out to the streets of South Africa. We support and help people through community, rehabilitation, restoration, counselling and different means. We believe in the power of love. It breaks bondages, sets the captives free and heals the broken-hearted. Through being His hands and feet in a dark world, we believe that light can be taken into the darkest of corners – where it is most desperately needed.
Our operations are focused on providing aid to those who are victim of the human trafficking and sex industry. We aim to provide a safe way of escape and help establish a way of recovery. Our rescue operations are held in partnership with various law enforcement agencies and through the spirit of collaboration we have seen great success.
Once a person has been rescued from the industry, our teams help them to get connected to rehablition centres and training facilities where they are thought how to re-build their lives on a sure foundation. Training and social development is key to the restoration process.
We have 4 projects where we do upliftment:
ADOPT A LIFE Adopt a Life is a project where we support candidates that have been victims of human trafficking that we believe are ready to walk a road of recovery. Depending on the level of education and skill will depend on the road of recovery and opportunity ahead. We ask partners to adopt a survivor by committing to her recovery process which can include a scholarship, a recovery centre programme, training opportunity, counselling and whatever the victims might need to reintegrate back into a life of freedom and hope.
BEAUTIFULLY BRAVE Beautifully Brave is our project where we connect with over 800 women in South-Africa working in the sex trade. Each year the number of women we connect with in brothels, clubs and the streets increases. We have interviewed and connected with these beautiful women and each and every one of them will say to you that they do not want to sell their bodies but their hurting and hopeless circumstances have brought them there.
BRAVE HOME The Brave Home is a second phase restoration home for women that are survivors of Human Trafficking. Traffickers control their victims, using them as a commodity to make money. Traffickers force victims to become dependable upon drugs which makes these women extremely vulnerable. In the Brave Home we give these women the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and control by creating avenues of financial freedom through education and job opportunities. After these women have completed their drug rehabilitation and trauma counselling phase these women don’t always have the option to integrate back to their families. In the second phase home we work towards giving these women scholarships, eduction, training, skills development and job opportunities to give them financial freedom and teach them good financial stewardship. You can partner with us in volunteering a skill or donate something of our Wishlist.
STREETLIGHT Streetlight is our evangelical focused division which has been established with a mandate to spread the good news of Jesus Christ, by being His hands and feet. We hold regular outreaches, operations and missions trips to help bring relief to whatever our team is guided to.
