Philani Support Group - Midrand Philani Support Group is a Home community which provides comprehensive services within the community which includes Health and Social services by formal and informal caregivers in the home of the HIV/AIDS directly, affected family in order to Promote, Restore and maintain individual members maximum level of comfort, function and health, including care towards death. Philani Support Group is an organisation established in March 2001 by the group of volunteers in Ivory Park , as a response to the Aids pandemic. Some of the members are themselves HIV-positive, and therefore they feel more than others the requirements for assisting and give mutual support. We consider HIV infection and Aids as a disease. And each person, infected or affected, has the Right to information and assistance in order to deal with its scourge. We want to break the silence surrounding HIV/AIDS and curb the spread, we aim to promote care and support for those infected and affected, especially the sick, dying, and the orphans.
