Sakeliga - Business League (Loftus Park)

WELCOME TO SAKELIGA - AN INDEPENDENT BUSINESS COMMUNITY. Sakeliga (meaning ‘ Business League ’) is located at the Loftus Park Shopping Centre in Arcadia , Pretoria , situated next to the renowned Loftus Versfeld Stadium and was established in 2011 as a self-reliant non-profit business group. We are building a self-reliant business community to enhance and augment the business environment. We enhance the business environment through policy and legal interventions, and we augment the business environment with alternative mechanisms for business where it is found wanting owing to politics. In short, Sakeliga creates and protects the environment in which the business community, and the community in general, does business. Our actions are based on a free market, constitutionalism, sustainability and a strong community value system. Sakeliga is an independent, not-for-profit community organisation for business persons in general, but for small and medium-sized enterprises in particular and has an independent board, comprised of senior business persons from various sectors of the economy. Sakeliga 's affiliate program is designed for local business chambers that want to be independent but want to join a network of business chambers and a larger business organisation that promotes shared interests. Sakeliga considers support for and cooperation between strong, independent business chambers to be essential for local economic recovery in South Africa. As part of its support to business chambers, Sakeliga is currently focusing on developing an aligned legal strategy, making research and information available and sharing economies of scale. VISION and MISSION: At Sakeliga we strive for sustainable success of the business sector, by promoting a healthy business environment, protecting businesses against harmful interference, and by building the economic infrastructure required for a prosperous economy. An independent business community is a network of business people and local business communities with the ability to regulate itself, protect itself against harmful state interference, work together to create prosperity, and mobilise its capital for a favourable environment for itself and all communities where it conducts business.
