ACADEMY BED & BREAKFAST: Welcome to Academy Bed & Breakfast and Conference & Event Venue . We are based at Rand Airport in Germiston. Our B&B overlooks onto the airfield, making it a B&B with a bit of a difference. We offer 12 rooms that all look out onto the busy airfield. There is a relaxed feel to the location and you can have a braai outside while taking in the blue skies and buzz of the aircraft. (If you have booked a room that includes breakfast, it is taken across the tarmac at the Harvard Café.) Based at Rand Airport Hangar 34. CONFERENCE & EVENT VENUE: Our Conference and Event Venue is located a few meters from the B&B, and it too, has a wonderful view. It is located on the top floor of an office block and has a prime view of the airfield. With glass doors opening onto a balcony, it is a view that can really be enjoyed. We are able to seat up to 150 people for a conference setting and around 100 people at round tables in a more social setting. The venue is fully equipped with air-conditioning. There also is a computer operated projector with sound system and microphone. We have an on-site kitchen and can cater for different sized functions, arranging buffet meals or finger foods. We like to assist where we can in catering for dietary requirements. AEROBATIC FLIPS: We are very proud to be affiliated with The Flying Lions Aerobatic Team. Flips in a T6 Harvard or Pitts Special can be booked through us. Experience a once in a lifetime aerobatic adventure. Our experienced pilots will take you up for a flip in one of the world’s most famous aerobatic aircraft of your choice, the Harvard, Pitts Special or our Extra 300 aerobatic aircraft. AVIATION SIGHTSEEING: Rand Airport, South Africa’s first international airport, and home of SAA for many years, is home to a wide variety of old and new aircraft and really is a flying enthusiasts dream with the SAA Aircraft Museum just up the street from us.
